Last field trip!

Carter's last field trip of the year!  Nature discovery center in Bellaire, TX.  We carpooled with the Zeinteks.
On our PoeCo gear.
Then we had Maggie over for a play date.   Lunch indoors for a change.

Then the fire museum.
We read a book about fire fighters and their jobs- how they visit businesses to make sure it's up to fire code and visit elementary schools to teach fire safety.

There is also an I-beam from 9/11 with digital pictures.  Maggie was attracted to that and we talked about the planes, the twin towers, the death of firefighters.  She asked how many people died and I looked it up- nearly 3000.  The kids said they were sad for all those people.  Why did the bad people hurt them?  I told them that they don't think about other people's feelings and we need to be sure we are kind to others.  Kids are so pure.

Washing fish

I asked Carter what he wanted for lunch: bún riêu hay là cơm với cá kho?

Cơm wis (with) cá kho.

While eating he asks:
Is this the fish that was in the water mama?

Yes, it was.

You gotta wash it, then bake it right mama?

How do you know?  Who did you see wash it?

Your daddy.

We call my dad.  Carter asks:  have you eat lunch yet?  Thank you for washing the fish!

My smart and sweet Carter.

Then he asked,
After I eat my lunch, can I make smoovie (smoothie)?

Được

Can I put strawberries and honey and sugar and ice and smoove (purée) it up?

And that's exactly what we did.

By the way, today he's a "baby skunk".

Mother's Day

My first muffins with mom for Carter!!
This year was Carters first school made Mother's Day present to me.  I was so excited for him and for me. :)

He told me yestera that he made me something to put a flower or s plant, that he painted it and that it was a secret.  I said, oh, you made a vase?  The look on his face told me that "vase" wasn't the wire he was looking for.  He might have said pot but I didn't get it.
Now I do.  Such a smart boy.  I live my Carter!

Lunar new year

It was Carter's parent helper day (PHD) at PoeCo for the lunar new year celebration.
We brought in hats, fans, and bed sheets for dragon dancing.

Big Poe had a gradin dance performance for all the kids.
But only Carter and Blake got a VIP photo op with the costumes post show.  :)

Go western day!

Go western day at PoeCo:  Chuck wagons, horses, daddies & breakfast!
It was also Blake's PHD and 4th birthday celebration.
"Reading" a cowboy book
First play date with Peter Buck.  It started raining at pick up so we ran to the car!
Carter is having fun showing Peter his corvette bedroom and Pokemon cards.
First Friday Lenten lunch:  2 fish fillets, strawberries, blackberries, a cutie and a cup of milk.
We are off to the children's museum!
First stop:  the Art room in Kidtropolis.  Peter enjoys painting.  We are making cherry blossom trees for the lunar new year.
Paramedics in training
Carter really liked driving!
He fell asleep in the car on the way to pick up Lincoln, woke up at home, and then fell asleep again!  Playing Cowboys and Paramedics is tough work!
